Now that the new cookbook Seasons in a Vermont Vineyard, that I photographed for, has been out for a little bit, I wanted to blog a little about some of the delicious food photos that came out the year long project. Working with author Lisa Cassell-Arms who cooked and prepped all the food, we covered a lot of ground in terms of food, setting, lighting, and color. I love food photography! Along with being surrounded with amazing food, it allows me to get creative, problem solve, and have the time and space to work through photographic problems. For those who are interested in the photo techniques employed here, there was a mix of natural window light, direct and indirect flash, and diffused sun.
Of course everyone should order a copy for themselves. Believe me, I’ve tried recipes and they’re great!

Quince cake
Raspberry, rhubarb, and almond gallette
